Modern Closet
It’s about providing convenient access to quality clothing for all families in NZ. We want to ensure that the Tamariki in our communities can play and be themselves in seasonal trendy threads without the impact to your wallet.
At the same time, we can improve the planet and commit to reducing textile waste by repurposing our clothing for kiwi families.

First time mum 4 years ago thanks to my son Max. I have always been a career women and have worked in corporate environments with 15+yrs experience in various roles managing the operations function for organisations.
Spending time with family was my motivation to look at doing something independent to working for others.
In the last 4 years it’s become important for me to find something that has a true purpose in helping others . Modern closet enables me to achieve this! I am certain it will improve our consumers lives; their Tamariki’s lives and has benefits to our planet.

Mum of 2 to the beautiful Taika and Maikee, myself and my husband Kieran moved our whanau to the small seaside town of Whaingaroa Raglan. Living here has provided me with appreciation of my connection to my friends, family and Manaaki whenua.
I have established value and importance to applying sustainable practises everyday as a mother and I have a desire to instil these values with my children as they grow in today’s world.
I have 11 years of experience in the finance sector, and I am excited to utilise my skills on this new journey. Modern closet can support everyday kiwis to practice sustainability while also giving all kids access to quality brands.
Cleaned with your baby in mind
Each batch of rented clothes is professionally cleaned and sanitized with carefully selected cleaning products that we would be happy to use for our own baby’s clothing.
You might be wondering what happens to all the items which are deemed to no longer be in rentable condition? We are proud to say that nothing ends up in the landfill as we either donate or recycle all items that don’t pass our exacting standards.
Clothing with a conscious
It’s estimated around 180,000 tonnes of clothing and textile waste is disposed in New Zealand landfills every year.
The New Zealand government has announced a new recycling project to combat clothing waste and reduce carbon emissions. The project aims to prevent the equivalent of approximately 45,000 tonnes of carbon emissions by 2035.
It's estimated that the fashion industry was responsible for 4 percent of New Zealand's total gross emissions in 2019.
